I got the"final kick" to build my own homepage in spring 2000. In school, we were given the task "My own Homepage". I wanted to build a website already before, but due to the lack of knowledge in HTML, this project failed. So now there was a second chance to realize it. To who this site would be dedicated to was clear soon: It should be about the cyclist I kept my fingers crossed for during the Tour de France 1999: Alex Zülle. Getting information was not that hard but my first steps in HTML weren't that easy, however, three weeks later I finished my work. Nowadays, I work one or two hours on it per week, depends on the amount of information. ::: And who did it? I was born on 11th of June 1982 in Halle/Saale (Germany). My parents called me "Anne" but after seven years my "dictatorship" in the family finished with the birth of my little sister. Later on, our family grew once more, my little brother was born. I spent my life in Lutherstadt Wittenberg from the age of 4 til 17, in February 2000 I moved to Ljubljana/Slovenia. I stayed there until May 2002, got my Diploma and moved back to Wittenberg. In September 2002 I started my studies of business management near Berlin My "fan career" began in summer 1997. Like a lot of other fans, I was fascinated by a young German guy that rode through France in such a strange yellow shirt. For about one year I completely symapthized with Team Telekom, Riis and Ullrich. Then, in 1998, during the scandalous Tour de France, a certain Swiss cyclist catched my attention... I go to races regularly since 1999 and I visit about 5-7 events per year. My absolut favorite is the Tour de Suisse wich I have visited for a few days every year since 1999. So far, I have been at "Rund um den Henninger Turm", Course de la Paix, Deutschland-Tour, Giro d'Italia, Giro di Lombardia, Züri Metzgete, HEW Cyclassics... ::: Why do you like Alex so much? Despite the fact the he is one of the most successful cyclists, he is down to earth. He is always friendly and polite even if there are no cameras around. What I like very much is his emotional behaviour. Alex is one of the rare pros that show how they feel and that just makes him even more symapthic. Also the way how he fights his way back when he was down shows that he has character. Now I have met my hero several times, I even made him to say "Hi" to me and to talk to me... Since he's quite a shy guy, it was a pretty hard task, believe me! |
